Josie's Neighbours! - 41.54min

Derby Rd, Southampton SO14 0DY, UK

Filmed in Derby Road, SO14 0DY, in the winter of 2014 and the following spring, "Welcome to Derby Road" is the community response to the Love Productions and Channel 4 attempted Immigration Street documentary series. Josie's Neighbours, follows feisty, bicycle riding 80-year old Josie, who has been living in the area since she was 6-years old, talking to her neighbours of various nationalities, to unravel the story of post-war immigration in Derby Road, Southampton. Known in the 70s as the red-light district, the local residents were the driving force of change to make the area safe, and transformed it into a culturally diverse and interesting part of the city. Produced by Claudia Murg in collaboration with Southampton Solent University and Solent TV.
